Mbaise USA 2017 Boston Convention Host Committee Chair
The 2017 Mbaise USA National Convention would be hosted in Boston Massachusetts by Umunna Mbaise Association, an affiliate chapter of Mbaise USA. For those who have not been to Boston, we warmly welcome you to the capital and the largest city in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Massachusetts is the largest state in the New England region. Other states include Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and Connecticut. Bostonians are friendly and proud of their history, their role in American independence and revolution from the British rule. Massachusetts is the home of four US presidents- John Adams (2nd), John Quincy Adams (6th), John F. Kennedy (35th), and George HW Bush (41st).
Boston is unique because of her historical attractions, tourism, higher education, healthcare, sports, transportation system and technological innovations. The following historical attractions are a great hit with tourists.

The World University rankings 2016/17 show that Boston occupies the first and third positions among ten top Universities in the world. The first is Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the third is Harvard University. This is why Boston is ranked among the top 10 as the world’s best cities for students. A very interesting fact is that America’s first high School, Boston Latin School (1635) and America’s first college, Harvard University (1636), are both located in Boston. Bostonpians.org also reveals that there are 35 Colleges, Universities and community Colleges located in Boston.
Massachusetts has some of the best hospitals in the world and many of them are located in Boston. Such hospitals include Boston Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Tufts New England Hospital, Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Boston Children’s Hospital and DANA-Farber Cancer Institute.
Boston is the home of many sports MLB, NBA and AFC champions in America. According to CityTownInfo.com, The Boston Red Sox are five-time MLB champions; The Boston Celtics are 16 time NBA champions; The New England Patriots are five-time AFC champions, while The Boston Bruins are five- time Stanley cup champions.
Boston has one of the best transportation systems in America which includes roadways, subway, regional rail, air and sea. The major Airport is Logan International. The major bus/train anchor for people coming from out of state is South Station. Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority runs a 24 hour schedule for local busses and commuter rails. You can also use taxi or UBER to get around Boston
Among early inventors in America were some notable Bostonians. Some of them include Alexander Bell who invented the telephone; Pricy Spencer, inventor of the microwave; King Camp Gillette invented disposable razor while James Naismith invented Basket Ball.
The affiliate chapter Umunna Mbaise Association of Massachusetts, Inc.is an association for Mbaise indigenes resident in Massachusetts seeking to promote unity, encourages Igbo culture and tradition, and assist in development programs, working together with other Mbaise Associations at home and in Diaspora for the welfare of Mbaise people.
